I started at 261 it's been 2 weeks out and now I'm 252. The staff ale seems not to over now. I just want to cry. Is this what's going to be the norm. Or is my body getting use to its new tummy? Help...

Take some deep breaths, in and out. In and out. You are fine. Losing is losing is losing.... try not to compare yourself to others who might be osing more or less. All that matters is that you weigh less now than you did when you got on the table. Right? You're not even in the 260's anymore, almost out of the 250's! BUH BYE POUNDS!

Keep your head up, keep following your surgeon's plan! I'll tell you that in the first two weeks I lost 11lbs. I lost like... 8 lbs week 1, then 3lbs week two. And then like 2-3 lbs a week for........forever. You won't (or shouldn't) drop a ton of weight all at once. You will have some weeks where you won't lose. You will have some weeks where you lose more, some where you'll lose less. It's not linear.

It'll happen. The sleeve works! If you are cleared for light exercise, maybe a nice short walk would help clear your head?

Your body is going to do what it's going to do. I think 9 pounds is fine. Remember, you still may be all bloated from the surgery.

Stay the course, keep getting all your fluids and Protein, and you'll lose just fine at your own pace. You'll see.

9 lbs is awesome. I'm 8 weeks out down 25 lbs since surgery. Slow and steady wins the race.

I agree, 9 lbs is great!

I'm 11 days out and have lost 6 lbs, so you are doing better than me.

Don't stress about it or it will slow down. Weigh ins only once per week if you have a hard time mentally. And the 3 week stall is yet to come... Take your measurements if you haven't already, it will usually show a loss even when your scale doesn't.

I started at 260 also. Sleeved 9/27. Lost 8lbs the first week, then ended up having pneumonia and back in the hospital...gained back the weight I lost plus a couple. Slow loosing following my hospital visit but my body caught up with itself and now, fast forward 11 weeks...down 50lbs! You will have moments of loosing a bunch, then a slow down, sometimes even a stall. Just be patient and know your sleeve is working. You will get there.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
