My story is beginning: From Large2nCharge (aka Return of the Amazon)

Recommended Posts

I have been dragging my feet on posting an introduction, so I apologize!

My name is CC and I'm 38 female in Central Texas.

I have committed to VSG surgery for December 15, 2016.

I have always been bigger but not always overweight. I allowed people to tell me I was "too big" and I didn't protect my self esteem.

I became complacent and lazy, and failed to address issues that led to being greatly overweight as I got older.

The truth is I will always be big, but I desire to no longer be morbidly obese. I vow to never be over 400 lbs again, and I know there are others betting the challenge of higher #s in being overweight.

Let me share some basic stats:

Highest recorded weight:427 lbs

Weight at 1st VSG consultation appmt: 412 lbs

Current weight (as of 11/29/16) 388 lbs

Height 6'4" (not an error, I am a very tall woman).

My goal weight is 225 lbs.

My surgery date is December 15th, 2016 for VSG.

I know that I have a unique figure / stature, but I welcome connecting and sharing this special part of my journey with kindred spirits, no matter what your personal stats or background might be.

Awesome this is what I've been searching for in my research, some one with my body type. (Everything's bigger in tx I guess lol -Houston here) I'm 33 and 6'3 current weight around 360lbs. I don't have a date yet because I'm relying on my tax refund to come in and I will go to Tijuana for the surgery (there's a dr across from Eagle Pass tx that is awesome but just out of my price range) I would love to follow your journey seeing I will be about 2 months behind you!

6'4" wow! That is pretty awesome! I have an employee who is 6'10" and is about as big around as a pencil. Being a short guy it always blows me away to see someone tall.

Large2NCharge Im on the opposite end of your height spectrum. Im 4'11" and 218. I had my sleeve on Dec 5 and hoping to reach my goal of 128by the end of 18 months. My doctor says 150 but thats not good enough in my opinion so Im reaching higher than he is. Good luck with your journey and Ill be watching for your posts.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
