Anyone Low Carbing for Pre-Op Diet?

Recommended Posts

My surgery date is December 6, and I am in the 2 week pre op liver shrinking phase. I drink 3 high Protein shakes and eat several cups of greens per day. I have lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks, I don't get Migraines, but I get really tired around 8pm. I am a little worried about Thanksgiving with the family, but I think a small piece of turkey will be ok. Any one else have any Holiday concerns?

I'm going to do my best to stick with turkey and greens plus I'm making mashed cauliflower. I need to check the carb content of gravy. I know I'm going to be disappointed! I might see if I can find a low carb recipe.

I low-carbed up to the 2 week liquid diet.

The liquid diet for me was 3-4 Protein shakes per day....very low carb shakes.< /p>

I stuck with this same liquid diet for the month after surgery as well.

Looking back on it now....13 months later......I wouldn't change a thing about how I approached it.

Grateful for the weight loss.

Three days to go! I could have done better on Thanksgiving but I've lost weight since and I have all the ketosis symptoms so I think I'm on track. I am so ready!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
