I'm so sorry you are going through this. It seems terribly unfair. I've never been given news like this but know your head must be swirling from having been tossed this challenge. I am holding you in my heart and praying for you.

I just had a thyroid biopsy last week and get the results on Wed. Was sleeved 12/31/15. The radiologist thought maybe my weight loss made it easier for the endo to feel the enlargement. Blood tests indicated changes a few months before sleeve. I'm thinking this might be why I've stalled. Time will tell. One day at a time. I want to lose more weight. What Ive lost has me way down on my meds and I'm thrilled, but I have some more to go. Not ready to be done yet. It seems it's always something when you get to be 71. So glad I had the sleeve, even at 70!

Biopsy was negative, so good news! I do have a node the size of a gumball, which Dr will monitor. Are thyroid issues common after wls or is it just my age (71)?

i wish you weren't dealing with these problems :(

good for you on reaching out to OP

that's a start

i can only imagine how you feel

i understand everyone wants/needs to lose weight

the necessary hormones made you gain weight?

that's a bummer after all your hard work

gradually losing weight will help you feel better

mentally and physically

try not to keep bread etc in the pantry

i'm glad you have "some" support

OP must walk in your shoes

then they will know how the situation feels

"maybe" you could find a cancer support group

talking about your feelings/sadness helps

these people have been there/done that

good wishes, thoughts being sent your way :)

My heart goes out to you!

Although I don't have thyroid cancer, I have been suffering from Graves Disease (autoimmune thyroid disease) for decades, before finally being formally diagnosed in May 2015.

As my thyroid was destroyed via radioactive treatment, I later had to go on Thyroid replacement med.

What I noticed was that once my regular dose was decreased by 50%, I slept better, but my weight was staying the same, and my old sweet cravings came back.

So, for me, I am still playing the dosage adjustment dance.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello, and offer you a link to great Thyroid Support sites, BP permitting.

I belong to few online thyroid support groups, and find them very beneficial.

Prayers and well wishes to you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
