Ok today my body is all time low, bc of my period. I feel so weak and tired. I think it might be my Iron so what do y'all do to get Iron in? What kind of Vitamins? Do you only take iron when your on ur period or it everyday? My doctors don't push taking iron for most patients. And iv only had my period last month and this month. My surgery was on August 22

Heck..I don't even remember it's been so long!

That said, I'm sure your doc has done bloodwork. See what your Iron levels look like, or have another blood draw done for this one purpose. They will guide you as you should need to be.

Never hurts to take a mulit with Iron, especially if you're a woman in childbearing years.

My all in one Bariatric Choice chewable wafer supplement has Iron in it~ and it is like sucking on a candy- yum :)

But just in case your tiredness isn't from low Iron, the nurse at my clinic always says that if we start to feel that way to start charting:

1)how much Protein we are getting in

2)how many fluids

3)how often we are taking our Vitamins and are e taking enough?

She said that often we will find that we aren't doing what we are supposed to be doing and that's why we get really low energy.

Also~ my sister had extremely low Bs. It affected her very badly with low energy. She ended up getting a B shot every week. She said she felt so much better right after getting it too.

If it continues def go to the dr and see what's up!

I hope it passes quickly, I hate that feeling :)

You want to be on an Iron (ferratin I believe is the one that we absorb the best) supplement every day. It's very common for post WLS women to be low in Iron. You can also get it via a patch at PatchMD. You can't take it with your Calcium (or like two hours before?), because it counteracts.

You can google this and likely find lots of information on it. I know on another board I am on, there is much discussion about keeping an eye on your iron levels.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
