I cheated... 13 day post op

Recommended Posts

I do not think one piece of popcorn will stretch out your stomach, so I wouldn't worry about that! Move forward from this, though!! Keep in mind your goals, and remember that the guidelines your NUT gave you are there for a reason! Your new tummy isn't ready for popcorn chicken yet! One day, but not yet. Chin up, hit the reset button tomorrow. All will be okay!! :)

Thank you so much! You made me feel a little less guilty! I have to be strong and not give in to temptation!

Whoops, I meant to say popcorn chicken.. I did read your post! And of course, you're human, it's natural! Like I said, tomorrow's a new day, start fresh!

You didn't "cheat", you made a choice. Your choice was pretty dangerous, too. You won't stretch your stomach, but you could rupture it, create a leak, or cause an infection if you continue to make bad choices like the one you described.

No judgement, it's your body. I just hope you fully understand the trauma your body just went through before you continue to make potentially dangerous decisions. Fried, breaded chicken? Is that where you really want to go less than two weeks out from surgery?

In a way it's good you feel so guilty or bad, that way you aren't feeling satisfied and will be less likely to do it again. But don't beat yourself up too much

Think of it as a lesson, not as a cheat. And be kind to yourself, let yourself off the hook and go over your lists of why you are doing this.

For me it's so I can ride roller coasters with my nieces & nephews, so I can fly without fear of not fitting my seat, so I can walk up to a mirror with pride, etc. :)

Remember this is a journey about loving and caring for yourself. Try to focus on all the pleasures in life you are getting closer to enjoying. Hang in there!! You can do this!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
