Hi, I was told not until after the second month and then it's a small amount, we don't get to eat big salads anymore. It maybe hard to digest....

Yeah, my program has me in "try anything" mode at week 6. That's when I can try salads and pretty much anything. They just encourage me to try one new thing at a time, to see how it works out. I expect that if I make sure to chew everything thoroughly, I'll be okay with most things. Everything I've tried so far has worked out.

I don't get to "try anything" till 3 mo. That's okay. I'm fine with going slow if it means I don't get sick. I Hate being nauseated more than just about anything.

Yeah, I plan to take it SLOW at introducing new stuff. I am pretty cautious about how I eat, I take it slow and I chew till it's totally unrecognizable before I swallow it. They said "chew until you could suck it through a straw," so I think that's part of why things sit pretty well with me, easy for my stomach to deal with.

To me, I could go three months on what I'm doing now, no problem. But it'll be nice to try a few things and see how they go down. I'm like you though, I REALLY don't want to get sick :)

I said it before, I really enjoy reading your posts. You are very honest and kind and you give good advice. Keep up the good work.

I'm 10 weeks out. And not really ckeared for vegetables yet however, the last couple of weeks if a piece of lettuce was on my plate I'd try it. It's not that easy to chew, chew, chew. But I enjoyed the crunch and change. Yesterday while out I ordered a Cobb salad (eating only a teeny tiny portion) and hardly any lettuce. I use to love salads but it's not that appealing anymore, it's too much work to chew and just doesn't slide down that easily.

Maybe a few more months out it will get easier.

I'm 10 weeks out and have been eating salads since about week 6 or 7. No issues. I just eat the Protein out of it first and then don't have a lot of room for the rest but can still eat about half of a small salad.

It feels kind of hard to justify a salad, as small as our stomachs are now! Feels like a waste, without Protein :) I know that the roughage is important too, but this surgery is really making me weigh my priorities when I eat! lol

I was cleared for salad @ 6 weeks- but Nut told me to stick to kale or butter lettuce- more nutrition & easier to eat than romaine or iceberg

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
