25 bites of food a day is not overeating. However as you heal, you will be able to eat more so you should start weighing or measuring your portions.

So I shouldn't feel bad and feel like I'm over eating because it's small amount of food

Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

No, you shouldn't feel bad.

Are you tracking your food?

Are you reaching your Protein target?

Are you drinking at least 64 oz of Fluid?

Are you avoiding added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), starches and fried foods?

Are you taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed?

If you are doing all of these things then it shouldn't matter how many times you eat.

Early on it is normal to eat more frequently because you can only eat a small bit. As your stomach heals, swelling goes down, and you can eat more. My ultimate goal is 3 meals a day and most days i do that nlw, butI have to add in an extra shake or Protein Bar to meet requirements. Am almost 4 mths out.

I eat 6 meals. (every 3 hrs) Each one of 1.7 oz. That's all I can eat. Very high Protein. I'm hitting between 75-80 grams a day.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
