Protein is critical for healing. The sooner you can reach your protein target consistently, the better you will feel.

Protein Water has very chalky taste and it makes me nauseous and it's still too soon for protein shakes. I feel like this is not healthy ... I'm 7 days post op

I was allowed Premier Protein on my clear liquid phase. I could also do clear protein supplements like: Isopure, ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates, Syntrax nectar, etc.

Protein promotes healing and increased energy levels. Please refer to your team regarding the amount of protein you need. Dehydration is bad, but malnutrition is just as bad. My NUT recommended unflavored protein in broth, pudding, etc. I haven't had surgery, but I have worked in medical field for 24 years; so this recommendation is more from experience in basic Healthcare. Good luck to you.

Beef bone broth, homemade, really helped me.

I couldn't tolerate any Protein shakes at all. I had to go lactose free for months post op too.

Once you are cleared for full liquids, blending chicken or beef broth with the meat to a fine consistency, that helps too. Egg drop soup was my first protein.

@@nikko9599 I am drinking 2 oz of Water every 15 min. How many oz are your shakes? Wondering if I should start alternating water and shakes every 15 min. How much water are you getting in daily? And for some reason I am still in an extreme amount of pain. I have 5 incisions instead of the avg 3 I hear ppl have

I've been alternating 1 Oz of water and 1 Oz Protein shake every 15 minutes. 2 Oz was too much for me. I don't finish a shake in 1 day they are 11 Oz though. Lately I've been adding pudding or a popsicle for a different tastes. Yesterday I started adding yogurt and Mira lax to my water
