nothing. not even a tenth of a pound. my body was healing. i just focused on getting in my fluids and Protein and walking as much as I could tolerate at that point. Still lost 22lbs the first month, and 63lbs in 4 months. Everyone loses differently so please be careful about comparing your weightloss to others. I understand the desire to have a feeling for what to expect just try not to obsess about it (which is easy to do).

Everyone is different so the weight loss is different. Please don't compare yourself to others. A lot of people here do that and get depressed that something is wrong. Relax and follow your plan!

No idea, my bariatric team ordered me to stay off the scales for the first four weeks ("weighing will just give you stress and anxiety") and I complied.

I'm not comparing myself to anyone I was just curious on how many pounds you guys lost. That's all

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal AppJust a simple question!

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

A question that can have a variety of answers for a variety of reasons. I mean really, what's the relevance? I ended up getting to below my goal weight losing 10 pounds in the first 2 weeks, just like someone else did losing 18. How fast or slow someone loses has nothing to do with success. If the question was for comparison, it's moot.

My surgery was Oct 5th and i lost 12 pounds the first week and then stopped completely this week. I guess it's normal to have stalling periods, but I think Constipation is the problem. Best of luck to you on your journey.

you are NOT being attacked. I'm sorry if this has come across that way. We are all cautioning against comparison because it is something we see very often on here with people getting extremely upset/depressed/angry and going so far as to blame their surgeon for "screwing up their sleeve" because they didn't lose over 30lbs in their first two weeks. So when someone asks what everyone else lost in their first two weeks - it raises some concern for that person. Everything that has been said in response to your question is out of concern for you because we don't want to see you setting yourself up for dissapointment. For a long time I didn't post about my progress but now when someone asks the question I do simply because I want them to see a response at the opposite extreme of the "I lost 30+lbs in two weeks" response.

And the reality is that in the first two weeks, your body is recovering from major surgery and is focused on healing not on losing the weight. We want to make sure you are kind and patient with yourself during that time and allow your body to heal instead of focusing on weightloss the first month.

So please take the responses with the intent they were originally posted in - trying to assure that you won't have unrealistic expectations that could be detrimental to you emotionally.

Communication and conversation require questions answers statements and responses. I'm thinking that your curiosity/questions has made you defensive. No one is attacking . Statements and responses are just that.

Omg wtf I can't ask a simple question without everyone attacking me on it. Jesus Christ.

It's a QUESTION. Answer it if you like or don't. It's that simple

If you think you were attacked, you need to step away from the internets super highway.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
