I don't have a carp but I have a reef shark. I was in New Caledonia on a cruise where the islanders were trying to encourage us to swim there with this!!

I told them that they were crazy as one of these attacked a swimmer a couple of weeks ago in the same location.

You guys should work on your extra skin instead of posting fishy pictures of you and your family members. you two or three guys got picked on and made fun of all your lives so why come on here trying to bully?

Um, you started it.

Thanks for the laughs tonight you guys!

Seriously, my night isn't going so great, finding this was gold(fish).

I made you a taco.

I'd be seriously carping myself if I swam next to the shark.

We have plenty of them here, Down Under ......

So, apart from "filter fish" carp in aspic, let's all eat Caviar!

These sturgeons could do with trimmed whiskers ....

I thought that was noodling for catfish. We all know noodles are against our new food religion.

I dont want to get "checked."

Where did tess go? I hope she went to Glamour Shots. Cant wait. I'm giddy with excitement and anticipation!

Carp is a Jewish jelly fish salad, eaten by Catholics at Christmas. Now that's an oxymoron ....... but not as defensive as the first post.

I'd love a big check/cheque as well ......

I'm Catholic but never ate that at Christmas.

Must be why I have NO CLUE WHY the OP started this thread???

I'm CARP-less!!! All of my life! Almost 50 years sans carp!

I think I should sue someone for damages.

Perhaps a check for me, as well??

As best as I can tell, we get a carp, a dollar and a lotto ticket? Is this one of those internet scams?

Caviar! ...

These sturgeons

Just a little aside here. This morning I half heard a public radio discussion. The speaker referred to Sara Palin's having claimed a view of Russia from her backyard in Alaska. He then exclaimed something like, "I live near Lake Michigan. Does that make me a sturgeon?" (As I said, I only half heard it, so this may be less than accurate. It's in the spirit assuredly.)

Has everyone here gone insane?? Is there a full moon that I don't know about? The posts this week are nuts. Unless I don't know what I'm doing, I went back through OP's posts and didn't find a single post from anyone else to warrant such a reaction. Is it a threat against future comments? The best way to insure turning people against you and getting never ending snarky comments is to threaten and fat shame here. I feel like the site has been taken over and we're all being punked. Threats, fat shaming, ice cream cake while on Clear liquids, eating swedish fish, because . . . you know . . . they're soft and you're hungry. I really can't take it anymore and don't know why I waste my time reading this site. I'm being punked, right???

I don't know about "insane" but I'm sitting here laughing my behind off.. I might not need wls after being in here awhile

Munky

True story: Went to visit the in-laws in Eastern Europe. We arrive in the evening and we're told my mother-in-law has been cooking for two days to make this rare delicacy to welcome us. MIL is a really great cook, so I'm intrigued. We get to their place and she serves carp in aspic with peas and carrots floating around. It's slathered in a beet and horseradish mixture.

Everyone was delighted. I was...not. I choked down enough to be polite and pushed the rest on to DH's plate.

Moral of the story: you should not give anyone carp. Especially don't give people carp when they aren't expecting it. And never, ever give people carp smothered in beets and horseradish.

They (Swedish fish "sushi") actually remind me of the plastic food on display in Japan, in the noodle bars and many restaurants .....

LOL

It makes it easier for the "round eyes" to choose, you just point and hope for the best .... :D

Lmao. That wouldn't make it easier for me to choose. Just looks gross.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
