Ladies only - endometriosis help please!

Recommended Posts

I know I've mentioned this in a post before, but didn't hear much so I wanted to ask again. Does anyone have any experience with endometriosis and WLS? I haven't had a period in 3 years, because it causes extreme levels of pain. Surgery recovery is nothing in comparison.

I'm assuming because of the hormones, my continuous BCP isn't working. Neither my surgeon nor my OBGYN know what to say. I am in tons of pain, and the blood loss from having a period for the last month isn't helping my 500 calories a day.

Any experience or insight would be great. I am up all night in pain and it's getting bad enough to where I can't even work. Help!

@@rolosmom7,

I would advise to get to a hospital or go to a good GYN doctor who specializes in endometriosis. I hope you find answers soon. Please keep us posted.

I can only imagine the kind of pain you're in. Best of luck in getting this resolved.

I feel your pain (literally) I had a hysterectomy years before my VSG due to endometriosis. It's the only thing that helped. Is this something you have discussed with your medical team? Did your surgeon mention anything about what things looked like in there when he did your sleeve? I know all my old adhesions made things a little tricky.

My surgeon (male) asked me to go off my continuous BCP - his female PA told me I'd be fine so I went with her plan. Saw my obgyn yesterday - she wants to "reset" everything and take me off the pill. But I just don't know how I'd manage working. At 27, my options are limited since I don't want to give up the ability to have kids.

So frustrating! Thank God my manager at work also had it for 10+ years and understands.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
