Retaining Water... I didn't think of this until I reread your post ella37, I ran out of my hydrochlorothiazide which is my Water pill! We use express scripts and I should get them in the mail tomorrow. I haven't had them since friday. Boy I hope this is the reason and I get them tomorrow

This is almost certainly the problem...when I came off HCTZ, my weight shot up, my rings got tight(er), etc. When your meds come, you should lose the water weight pretty quickly. Make sure you tell your surgery team about this, too. Good luck!

Fyi - You might want to get uric acid levels checked if you have used hydroclorothiazide long term. I ended up with gout after using it for several years to treat idiopathic periphreal edema.

@@mommabear2311 Definitely too many carbs and not enough Protein in your shakes. I'm sure the HCTZ will help too. Drink TONS of Water - like more than 100 ozs every day until surgery and avoid sodium (packaged broth). Skip the crystal light - have Decaf tea (hot or iced) and Water with lemon. I lose weight slowly too - and I went from 284 when started my pre-op to 277 on Sunday (6 days into my pre-op diet). I gained a few pounds this morning but I think it's from having too much sodium yesterday and not enough water throughout the day (plus I'm due for my period). Stay strong - you can do this!!!

Also - are you comparing the same scale? The one at the doc will always read differently. If you went from doc scale to home scale that could be why. But, I also recommend lowering carbs. That's a pretty high carb count. Best of luck, I'm sure you'll be fine ????

I am in the same boat. I started my liquid diet last week and only lost 2 lbs out of the 10 I have to lose by Monday. I have no clue how I am going to lose the weight required by Monday. Please update. I am crossing my fingers for you!!

I just grabbed my 78oz Water jug to keep with me. I am using New Direction product and was having 4 per day. Now I am on the New Direction shakes 3x's a day. I started my monthly on Monday and I wonder If that has a lot to do with it. But I think my Water intake was lower than it should have been .....looking back I was not getting my full 64oz in and its frustrating. I have been working out and trying to sweat excess weight off as well........ I am praying my hardest that I can get this extra out of me by Monday....which is my actual surgery date.

**Sorry Idk how to tag yet **

THANK YOU....I needed to hear that because I have been a wreck since yesterday's weigh in. I have scheduled everything at work around this and will be so bummed if I have to postpone......

@@LIsaRaye81 I"m sure your period has something to do with it. I gained 5 lbs from mine - and lost it right away once it was over. Water is definitely the key - so that should help too. Add lemon and drink Decaf tea (iced or hot). Avoid sodium. Good luck!!!

I weigh tomorrow and I am nervous and scared. I'm praying for 5 lbs down. I'm diabetic and have an insulin pump, I've had some really low numbers so I know my carbs have decreased but holy moly am I worried. Good luck to you and I will let ya know how it goes tomorrow ????

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
