September bandsters Progress

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

Wanted to know how everyone is doing. I am getting banded next monday. Getting nervous, but excited. Can't say I am looking forward to all the liquids but I am sure it will be well worth it. Anyway can't wait to see how everyone else is. I know a few of you have already been banded. Congrats and let us know how you are.

Elizabeth.:clap2:

PCracker just updated on another thread and says she is doing good. She said it was her first surgery and it wasn't that bad. Something to look forward to, right?

Poohlvr-I just got home from my consult and I am a go! There was a rough moment where the dr. said he wasn't able to do my surgery at the location it was scheduled because they didn't allow people over 300# to have surgery there. So...after holding back my tears, I asked what I could do...I am on a strict medifast diet to lose 20 pounds in 16 days. I know that by sticking to it (the glass half full!) I can do it, but I am NOT looking forward to it. I guess it will just get me ready for the next phase in my life.

You only have a 14 days to go. Are you getting nervous? I can't remember if you are on a liquid diet or not.

Can't wait until the 21st!

Next week I have my lab work and last consult before the surgery!!! The countdown is on!!!

Hey everyone,

Well I was banded on wednesday. It hasn't been such a smooth ride for me. I had a bad reaction to the general and threw up a couple times. My stomach doesn't really hurt but the gas is painful. The first day all i did was sleep and when i was awake i got my mom to massage my back and applied a heating pad. This helped alot!! Now that this is the second day it is much better. Still getting gas. Every now and then I feel like i have masive heart burn but I think tomorrow will be better. I still feel this is the right thing for me to do but i just want the gas to go away.

Stacy - isn't 80 a tad bit too much Water? That seems like you wouldn't be able to do anything but sip on Water all day long!

Julie - I am glad that did your hair and make-up today! That made me laugh! Good to know that you are feeling up to it again. Sometimes, it can just be a hassle to do it all! Are you using gas x at all?

I am on day 2 of medifast, not pure liquids, but as I said earlier I have to lose 20 by the 21st, so I have been sticking to it like glue! I will weigh tomorrow morning and hopefully have lost a few pounds. Of course I will have to let everyone know.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
