I am 4 days post op and I am weak and tired all the time. I read other post from folks that are 4 days out and it seem like they are doing leaps and bounds better than I am. I am repulsed by the thought of eating (who would have EVER thought that I could say that with a straight face) however I do well with fluids though.

When ever I eat I am ABSOLUTELY miserable. I ate 2 tablespoons of yogurt around 1200 and it is sitting in my stomach like a brick. I am so full and my well meaning family keeps trying to make sure that I eat...sigh. I just want to feel normal.

My sleeve surgery was 8/30/16. I didn't have much pain but wow I was weak and tired for a solid 2-1/2 weeks. I slept so much I became dehydrated and had to be hospitalized. I didn't want food either. My PCP and surgeon said I just did not tolerate the general anesthesia well. At 3 weeks I finally felt like me again. It really frustrated me that I kept reading that many felt great at 5 days out.

Know that your body has endured something big and trust it to heal itself. You WILL be ok. Give yourself time and don't compare yourself to anyone else. You can do this!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
