A few bites

Recommended Posts

I am six weeks post op and can only eat about 6 bites before it is too much. All I really eat is Protein because it's so hard to measure protein when you don't eat full portions. I am still doing gene pro and a Protein shake to make sure I reach my goal but is this normal? I have been stalled for 2 1/2 weeks but that is ok I didn't want to loose to fast. I am down 21 lbs since surgery and happy with that.

We are so similar! I am 6 1/2 weeks out! Usually do a premier shake for lunch and GENEPRO mixed with something for Breakfast ( yuck) ... Yes- I only eat 4-6 bites. And I have also been stalled for about 4 weeks! ( well one pound last time I weighed - which was two weeks ago) total weight lost last time I weighed was 25 ( including pre op diet ) - wow! So similar

That is crazy!! What was your starting weight? (My hw 243, sw 231, cw 210) When they did my swallow test after surgery I was told I was slow to empty, I don't know if that's why I get full so fast or if that changes over time. Good luck to you!!

I'm also at six weeks, and I still have a lot of restriction. Everyone is different, but I look at this as a good thing. I focus on my Protein and supplement with shakes as well. One question: What kind of Protein are you eating? If it's chicken, beef, pork or other dense protein, you naturally won't be able to eat much of it, because your pyloric valve (at the bottom of the stomach) closes to allow for pre-digestion in the stomach. If you eat things like cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese, or even soft white fish, you will be able to eat more.

I am down 25 lbs and just went into a stall this week - I can tell because weight loss has been slowing and finally this week, it has just stopped.

I'm going to work on getting as much protein and Water in as I can, but like you, it's still difficult (even with liquids).

Good luck and let us know when your stall breaks.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
