Help me choose my "Before" picture

Recommended Posts

Only a few more days before my pre-op meeting and I've already started to feel better after about 1 1/2 weeks of drinking lots of Water and (kindof) watching what I eat.

Now, to some, the following might seem like a practice in abject humiliation, but you've really got to understand how my mind thinks.

Can I get some help from the lapbanders out there to help me choose my "Before" picture? There weren't a lot to choose from, but I think the three finalists are pretty worthy.

See the finalists and leave a comment to vote:

Kamler's Space: Choose my "Before" Picture

Thanks!!!

how about taking one the night before surgery. then every month on your "bandiversary" date, you can take one and compare.

i do it monthly and wear the same type of clothing and when i dont really see the scale move, i see the difference in my appearance from one month to another.

good luck.

I would choose the one on the sofa. Your shirt is a little tighter there so it shows more. I wish I would have had one where my clothes were tighter. Good luck to you. I hope you love your band as much as I love mine.

My 4 year old actually took that picture. Funny, that's how my 4 year old sees me every day! If that isn't motivation then I don't know what is!!!

my pick of those 3 would be the first one with your family...

but i agree you should do one the night or day before

by yourself, and wear similar clothing for your after pic later on.

I like the one where you are sitting down - the third one - us fatties always look bigger when we are sitting down because the fat pushes up or something. You will be setting a great example for your children when you live a healthier life and they will admire you.

Enjoy the lap band adventure.

Take care,

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
