Weight Loss Challenge

Recommended Posts

For those of you who might be interested, I have started a weight loss challenge under the Lap-Band Support Group threads. This challenge is going to start today Labour Day and will last until Thanksgiving Day (November 22). Yes this is posted on the general threads and thus we are following the U.S. holiday. I joined their previous challenge which started in July to Labour Day and I found it quite inspirational. I hope you can join our friends south of the border for this challenge.

To access this challenge click on Lapbandtalk home page, look for Main Lap-band forums and then click on lap-band support. The thread to the challenge is there. Best of luck to you all.

No, no, I'm sorry. I didn't realized that when you said "I started" that you meant that YOU actually started/created the challenge, so I just joined the first Sept to Thanksgiving challenge I saw! I was just givin' you a hard time, but not for real

Well I took the plunge too! I really am feeling the need for a good swift kick!! I have not been gaining this summer but I have not been losing either, I am getting a bit concerned as I am not at 7cc in my band and not feeling a lot of restriction yet. am I some kind of freak of nature or what??? Does anyone have this much in their band? I am going to call the clinic and see what they think. My concern is what happens just how much can this band be filled??

So Yes I am taking that challenge and really looking forward to seeing results!

Call the clinic but I think the slower the fills the better cause then you'll know when you reach your "sweet" spot - restriction but being able to eat what you're suppose to eat without pb. You seem to be doing well with weight loss - 38lbs gone YEAH!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed. I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair. Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end. That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
