Dont know where else to look

Recommended Posts

I had the lap band put in back in 2013 and had to have it removed. When my doctor removed we did the gastric sleeve. I am 3 months post op. Been doing really well. For the last month I have not lost any weight at all but haven't gained any either. But for the past 2 days my stomach area has been very tender. When I take a deep breath it hurts but not bad.. there is a little pain but don't know what could be causing it. Any ideas or someone else had this happen? I don't go back to see my doctor until November and really I don't want to have to make an er visit.

Agree, not worth screwing with, but where are you from? Seeing some bad stuff as far as follow up is concerned from the UK. I only mention this because if you help explain your circumstances better, you might get better advice from this resource. There are people here who have successfully worked through various managed care systems, so posting asking about particular plans and surgeons MAY be helpful. I'm not trying to pry into your business, just trying to help you get the resources you might need.

I'm in North Carolina USA. I have been find like I'm not nausea or vomiting. I can eat and drink just fine. I just started to get tenderness on my whole stomach area and the pain goes to my left side and into my back. It is not bad pain it is just uncomfortable.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
