The pre-op diet is hard, but just remember it is not forever, and I can promise you that after the surgery you won't feel hunger in nearly the same way. It is much less intense.

I found it really took a week to figure out how to space out the shakes that was going to work for me. My pre-op is 4 shakes a day and basically nothing else. I go to bed early! Keep busy and just do my best. It's really hard, but only temporary. You can do it!

I'm on day 3 as well! My headache and nausea is a little better but so weak and dizzy at end of day. I would say Water and broth help when I am hungry. I am more nauseated than hungry though.

Seriously there are thousands of us who have done this. Get serious with the real problems, not the misery of liquids and boredom!

It's really hard hun try drinking some Powerade zero. I sip on mine all day long. The hunger pains are less intense. I really does help. I drink 2 bottles a day. It has helped me get through the last 8 days of this nightmare.

Wow @ you're rude. I thought this was a forum for people who are supportive, guess I was wrong? @@Bounce had asked what had worked...I was saying broth and Water have made it much better for me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

.

I am the LEAST rude person you will meet here Missy. Wake up to reality and simple questions that have simple answers.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
