@@christinah I'm surprised they suggested 1/2 cup of food 5 days post op. This may not be hunger and could be stomach acid - are you on a PPI? It's unusual to not be able to satisfy real hunger at this point - especially if you're eating food. It could also be that you're not drinking enough fluids. Please be careful and don't overeat or eat off plan - it's dangerous and could cause complications some life threatening.

Distract yourself from food and go walking, paint a room, start a small project. Rearrange your pantry. Keep busy!

It's kind of hard to distinguish the difference, but I would guess it's a lot more head hunger than physical hunger at this point. The cravings were wicked for me the first month or so. If you don't give in you'll discover that they will start to lessen after awhile.

Try and distract yourself, and stick to your post op instructions. This journey is as much mental as it is physical.
