In a typical day, what do you do for exercise?

I walk for about two miles and do strength training so that when I lose weight fast, the loose skin won't be *as* bad.

What do you do?

just so you know, you'll have a lot of excess skin no matter what (unfortunately!!)

I of course don't do all of these every day (usually only one per day, 5-6 times a week): swimming, Water aerobics, stationary bike, walking, weight machines, TRX, yoga

Very good! I think I might be over doing it on the strength training. I want to do my upper body every other day and on the days I'm not doing it, build up the muscles on my legs, but I REALLY want to stay on top of my triceps. So I work them out every day.

Weekly Routine

2 days spin class

3 days weight lifting

1 day running

I'm down 150 lbs and have very little sagging skin. My Dr attributes this to lots of exercise and Water.

Do you think The exercises I'm doing is enough to prevent skin saggage?

This is my fall and winter schedule (due to more darkness and colder weather)

2 days spin class (1 hr)
2 days weight lifting & Cardio (1 hr)
2 days Elliptical (1 hr)

Come late Spring I shift to more outside cycling in early AM and evenings, and only a couple days in the gym for weight training.

Everyone has different goals and likes. I am not sure any or all helps the skin be tighter, but the strength and health is the greatest improvement.

It certainly seems sufficient, along with lots of Water. However, everyone reacts differently so it's not guaranteed. But, at least you'll know that you did the most possible to prevent or minimize sagging, but you'll definitely benefit with a healthier body which is probably more important.

I run 30 + miles per week, do power/vinyasa/Ashtanga yoga and have big time muscles (18% body fat). Didn't stop me from having excess skin.

Don't count on exercise to fix that, but don't let it stop you! So many other benefits!!!

Going back to my question- how early hv u started doing ur exercises after surgery

Sent from my SM-G900W8 using the BariatricPal App

As soon as my doctor cleared me, which for me was at four weeks. Began couch to 5k that day and also group exercise classes (including my first yoga classes) at the local gym.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
