I wouldn't worry too much. While I was very pleased with the job my surgeon did I did actually have some nerve damage. I think it attributes to alot of the pain I have now from that TT.

I have spoke to other people who have had them and one woman told me that 3 yrs out she still feels pain if she has to bend for very long. Perhaps she had nerve damage as well.

There seem to be quite alot of people that never experience that and some have had no clue what I was referring to.

Keep in mind that I had my tt nearly 10 yrs ago and I wasn't exactly skinny when I had it. I've done nothing but piled on more and more weight onto that tuck and really tested it to no end...thus this LB.I def abused the system while you are going to be at a healthy weight having it and not going to balloon back up like I did. Big big diff for your future recovery there.

Question for you, since you had a TT once and regained, is another TT an option for you? I have never had a lot of experience with plastics so I don't know much about it.

Great response, btw. You sound like a nurse. :)

Wow, thanks so much. That's very flattering. I wish I was a nurse but the reality is I work in my hubs law firm by day and psychic by night. lol

As per having another surgery. The good thing about my TT is that even when I piled weight back on I never really gained anything in that area. There I was at 284 with no tummy, weird huh. I think I may get away with not having another one because I even had a baby with the TT and it didnt affect it at all. I will need some work done on my bum, and thighs and my boobs need doing again. I had them lifted and enlarged at the same time as my TT but a boob job doesnt fare well after several years and tons of weight gains and losses.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
