I had my surgery in June and I've had sushi, but I only ate half of a slice of a roll with brown rice and the rest was sashimi. You shouldn't have to completely remove ANYTHING from your diet forever

I had sashimi and naruto rolls pretty early on post op- by 3-4 weeks it was allowed on my plan. I don't miss the rice and without it, it's a solid high protein rchoice for our post op diet!
I know that for a while my food will be restricted and I've accepted that. However, sushi is my utmost favorite food that I've ever eaten. With that being said, I know rice is a touchy food for a lot of people but is there anyone that has tried to test the waters
Once they were a while out like 6mo or a year later?
If I have to say goodbye then so be it, but if I know there will be a day that I can eat it once again, I'd be so happy!
