I thought I was the only one who did cheese and hot sauce!!! I dip

Mine in Sriracha. Amazing.

Sriracha is a righteous condiment if ever there was one. I have fond memories of my first month post op.....somewhere around the 3 week point I was making some powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup.....and added a squirt of sriracha in there....and bamsucka ! It was a game changer.

When it comes to Swiss cheese, though.....I dip it in either Tobasco brand Original or their Garlic version. Both are among my favorite hot sauces.

Well i eat 1/4 of a cup at each meal 4 times a day and most contain cheese refried Beans and cheese chicken and cheese turkeymeatball stuffed with cheese eggs and cheese a cheese stick for snack i do count calories but figured it was enough for me to really worry just want to get everyones take on it and i cosume between 60-70 grams of Protein and excersize 4-5 days a week but i have found myself stalled every 2 weeks since surgery i stall for 2 weeks so was wondering could the cheese be it

Horreychit.........a cup of cheese a day would lock my system up tighter'n Fort freakin Knox.

I'd never be able to have a BM.

Damn......just damn.

I love the hell outa some cheese. I almost can't control myself with some proper swiss dipped in hot sauce (yes....I'm freaky that way).......but I have to slow my roll......cheese and nuts are on my "limited amounts" list.

In fact.....when I think about it.....damn near everything is on my "limited amounts" list......except for Water, coffee, air and exercise.

Lol i dont eat a cup of cheese i eat 1/4 size meals 4 times a day with cheese topped on at least 2 of them but as far as bm thats probably why im the way i am i also have to add Fiber to each of my meals and take collace eveyday per my doctor

I'm such an idiot......as you may have suspected already.....now it's confirmed. :D

I misread your post.

My apologies.

Good job being proactive with fiber and the colace.

@@Dub I will have to remember that when I'm post op. I hear a lot of people can't tolerate spice after surgery... Which would be devastating to me! Tabasco (any flavor) on eggs is AhMazing!

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Spice is key for me! Siracha on eggs- heaven. Tabasco or Louisina Hot Sauce mixed into some home made queso a must.

As for other spices- it's what keeps things fresh and interesting. There are only SO MANY ways to cook a chicken breast or thigh, eat veggies- though I don't mind them plain with some S and P.

New obsession? Oven roasted asparagus - drizzle with olive oil, a good sea salt (pink or Himalayan) and fresh cracked pepper. Gets a little char on them, and then some fresh shaved Parmagiano-Reggiano over it and I'm in ecstasy.

This is what I made last night - with lots of garlic (didn't put cheese on it but YUM). I ate so much that I think my pee will smell for days! :-)

Garlic isn't liking me lately... Huge downer for an Italian gal from Chicago. Hoping it is a fleeting thing

@@LisaMergs * If you're melting a ton of velveta cheese PRODUCT, well now, that's not really cheese, I would say.* This made me laugh...I have a friend who ADORES Velveeta and that 'cheese' in a spray can. I call it 'cheze' and I've been able to annoy her for 15 years by saying it. It's the little things, sometimes!

I buy the weight watchers string cheese and usually have one or two during the week if I feel hungry around 3pm or so. Its just a healthier option than other things.

I'm a cheese freak lol. It's definitely on my top five favorite list of foods. I eat it every day. I don't eat the low fat ones but I do watch how much I eat of it carefully. Love Baby Bel. I still get a whole lot of my daily Protein from dairy sources. Luckily, I did before surgery too so I think my body is used to it. I had Constipation at the beginning but now I'm over it :)

All you people who love the hot stuff just aren't normal ;) (I just can't tolerate spice and never could, I'm secretly jealous)

Could cheese slow or possibly stall weight loss i eat cheese on everything and love it its low fat but still anyone have to give up cheese?

Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App

Usually no, but I guess anything is possible if you eat a lot of one thing. I love cheese and eat it frequently. I tend to savor it by itself though or else in salads. Combine it with carbs and then it's not the cheese that's the problem but the carbs.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
