I am 5 weeks out and I want to make some crock pot taco Soup that calls for white shoe peg corn. It calls for 2 cans but I plan to only use 1 can. Has anyone had difficulty eating corn at this stage?

Since corn is a starchy vegetable, I don't eat a lot of it. I certainly didn't try it at 5 weeks post-op.

If it's allowed on your program then I suggest just trying it to see how it goes.

Corn is hard to digest so I would skip it all together for now. It won't make any difference in the Soup. And this is coming from a corn lover!

5 weeks post op? I wasn't even on solid foods until 40 days post-op.... I was told no fibrous veggies for 3 months post-op. Besides corn is pretty high in carbs/sugar, so I probably would have stayed away from that one in my weight loss phase altogether. I've eaten corn many times post-op by now, but I'm two years out.

I was cleared medically for all foods at one month. if you have been cleared you will probably do fine. it is a starchy veg, but you are not going to get very much per serving with one can in a whole thing of Soup. you stomach may or may not like whole veg yet. go slowly.

I am almost 6 mths out and I had a mini corn on the cob after eating my Protein. I could on eat about 1/2 of the mini, but did not have a bad reaction. I was on vacation and don't keep it in the house. I love corn, but don't plan on including it in my regular meals.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
