3wks out tacos?

Recommended Posts

@@sc101071 I'm fairly certain taco shells aren't on there. Taco shells could cause complications. Many plans are different and we should be following our own plans or questioning changes with our own surgeon. Depending on what your idea of a taco - I would not be allowed lettuce or Tomato at 3 weeks. I would only be allowed pureed meat, melted cheese and sour cream. So my answer would be - no I can't have tacos.

I wasn't allowed veggies until well past 6 weeks and even then, my NP frowned on anything like lettuce as it contains so little nutrients. Tomatoes and anything else with seeds was also a no no. FOR ME.

Beans and cheese? YUP. Sour cream? Absolutely (but I used plain greek yogurt instead). meat and veggies? Not quite yet...

But again. FOR ME. I even have that disclaimer in my signature. You know, so I don't come across as SMUG. ;)

Odd thing? My NUT who is very strict, makes no restriction on full fat products- dressing, sour cream, mayo, BBQ Sauce etc. Her opinion on Condiments is that because of the small volume of food we consume, we aren't eating THAT much of a particular condiment, so have at. Her opinion is regular dressing tastes better so enjoy the scant teaspoon you will likely need.

I, too, eat full fat everything. The only thing I really watch is sugar and carbs. Full fat tastes better, keeps me full longer and is much more satisfying. Bring on the fat and bring on the flavor!!

I too eat full fat everything, it's more natural not as many carbs either. They add "flavorings" in the form of carbs to "low fat" or "light" to give it taste.

Ok so crazy story. I am 2 weeks preop. I was in the hospital all of Labor Day weekend. So while there I watch my 600 pound life. The whole show she was addicted to Mexican food. I sat there for 2 hours watching that. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I have not had a craving for anything till then. So on our way home yesterday I stopped at Taco Bell got a regular taco scooped out a tiny bit of meat tasted great. Got home 15 minutes later and was in the bathroom for an hour. So yeah I'm over tacos. Lol

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
