Soft Stop Anyone???

Recommended Posts

VERY interesting topic. I've never heard of ANY of this before!!! Altho' I do remember almost every meal my father would have to leave the table to blow his nose!!!

I'm going to start paying more attention.

Is anyone familiar with the term "soft stop" in reference to knowing when to stop eating? From what I read it can be anything from a sigh to a runny nose to hiccups. I have the sigh one. After eating almost the reccomended amount of food I sigh. It's not anything I consciously do, it just happens out of the blue and when it does I stop eating and find that I am perfectly satisfied! I can and have eaten past my soft stop, but only on a few occassions and I think I feel best when I don't. :)

I just use the term "Full signal".

For me, it's one tiny hiccup.

I can eat one bite after that hiccup, but if I eat two bites past it I get sick.

So far I have had 2 fills and I don't notice that I have a signal to stop eating. I guess I need to start paying more attention to my body. For those of you that don't have a SOFT STOP, how do you know when to stop?

uh oh - look for new ones

Mine changes up on me. I very seldom will have the shoulder pain. I occassionaly get the sigh, but mostly I get the burp. I know I took one extra bite when I hiccup and I know I didn't chew enough when I get the golfball in the chest.

I don't know why the signal changes but mine does so I have to try and pay attention or I get to the hiccup w/o realizing it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
