What shakes have you tried? Is it the smell, taste, or texture, or volume that gives you difficulties?

If it is the smell, try sipping from something with a lid.

If it is the volume, try taking smaller sips.

If it is the taste or texture, try some different shakes.< /p>

Have you tried:

Premier Protein?

Syntrax nectar?

ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates?

powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury?

Quest?

ProtiDiet hot chocolate?

It's very common for your taste to change following surgery.

What flavor do you have of the premier? Try adding some S/f syrups to change the flavor. I added raspberry or a little PB2 to the chocolate. Mix it up a little :)

Temperature can make it easier/harder, too. I liked mine REALLY cold, so I blended the Premier shakes with a little ice to make them lighter in texture and colder. I still have a hard time drinking RTD Protein shakes straight out of the carton.

Everything made me want to puke for about a week after surgery. Zofran was a life saver for me - do you have any? In the early days the best I could do for Protein some days was fairlife milk. But again only with zofran in my system.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
