Yes the one I used was actually the one my daughter got right after her C-Section. It worked wonderfully!

Did it help at all with skin?

the hospital gave me one - so you might want to check with them first. if not, I have one - hardly worn. would send it for the cost of shipping.

I don't know what you mean by helping with skin???....I only wore it for support and pain relief....about two weeks.

Ah... I was wondering if wearing it would help the skin "bounce back" after weight loss... after my csec I wore mine about 2 months and you could barely tell I had been pregnant aside from a small pooch, and some stretch marks...

IDK, It may help with the elasticity of the skin keep it tight as it reduces and it won't be as saggy waggy????

What do you think about that argument for binding?

As well as support for stitches and healing?

That's what I am hoping for... I have one compression tank and hope to get a couple more before surgery day...

The support is worth it. I'm not sure it has to be a binder, anything that holds you in, like some light Shapewear will work.

The support helps you not strain your stomach muscles, it especially makes it easier to sleep and sit up

I'm a week and 5 days out from my post op and just started feeling a "pull" on my left side about 3 fingers under the top incision site...I think now added support maybe nice but never would have wanted to hod on to the gas following surgery.

I was looking at bariatric abdominal binders on Amazon. The one I'm looking at costs about $35. Is it worth having for the surgery?

More than likely, the surgeon will put one on in the OR. After the drains are removed, then you will be able to buy others. I, personally liked extra firm waist nippers and bodysuit types. I was told that the longer I wear compression, the better the final result. Since this was my one and only shot, I wore compression for 6 months.

After my initial surgery I was given a pain pillow. It was something to hold and press against where my incisions were when I got up to move. After other surgeries that I had I used a abdominal binder. The binder was great at compressing everything.

I didn't use a binder of any kind after my RNY. What I did use and I feel made the best decision for me was bike shorts. It gave just the right amount of compression to hold everything in place and I didn't have to spend $35 on something with no further use. The shorts I used for exercise until they fell off so I got my money's worth out of them.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
