I had my surgery on June 7,2016 day of surgery weight was 235 starting weight was 252, today I'm at 196 and went from a size 20 to a size 13 !! I'm so excited , I have a lot more energy now, I haven't been in this size since I was 18. I still have ways to go to get to my goal weight, but I'm happy with how far I have come. It's been tough, but worth it.post-292516-14720624221408_thumb.jpg post-292516-14720625004647_thumb.jpg

I haven't been 196 since I was 18, too! And at age 17, I was only 145. Hard to believe I was 115 at age 14! Oral steroids are evil, lol! Congratulations! You look amazing!

I'm super happy for u. I'm having a hard time with not being jealous and sad that I was done on June 21st and I've been stuck at 32 lbs for three weeks. Feeling so discouraged

I noticed you have tattoos on your arms. I also have 2 very special tattoos on my upper arms. Right side upper arm a flying pig for my dad that passed from cancer 3 years ago and on the left a half upper sleeve of a Horned Owl with teal ribbon for my mother in law that just passed from ovarian cancer this last May. I was wondering if your tattoos are changing any? Stretching out etc.

You look amazing and make me feel excited about maybe having WLS

Thank you, don't get discouraged. Everyone is different, look at your calorie intake if your not taking in enough calories your body stops burning fat, make sure your taking in your Protein and walking! You got this, you can do it! @@trae33

@@kimberb , thank you ! I haven't seen anything happen to my tattoos as far as stretching or anything like that. As for the surgery it's been a challenge but well worth it! This is by far one of the hardest journeys I have taken. Good luck! You can do it!

I had to follow a 6 week diet plan set by my surgeon. First week was liquid, followed by two weeks Puree, two weeks semi solid then regular consistency foods.. No eggs till after eight weeks. But lots of Protein, Beans and spinach lol chicken breast and I love eggplant I use it when I want Pasta or pizza I just use that instead, as the crust or the Pasta substitute. Love bananas with lactate milk became lactose intolerant... Or Peanut Butter and banana.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
