Pain with every swallow

Recommended Posts

I had sleeve Surgery 8/16 and am 5 days out. I have pain under my left breast every time I sip on something,I had a hernia repair and feel like the pain is from that and not my sleeve. I am only up to about 10 oz a day of Fluid. I have no nausea or other pain but I am starting to get weak. Has anyone else had this problem??

I also had a hernia repair and only felt a bit of pressure, ot pain. Try Taki g smaller sip very slowly. And please sip all day so you don't get dehydrated. Might be a good idea to call your doc too.

You're going to end up hospitalized on only 10oz of Fluid per day. You need to contact your surgeon's service and have them tell you what to do. Are you only taking in 10 oz because of the pain? I had a cramp-like pain every time I drank Water (or anything, for that matter) for probably 10 days, but it wasn't bad enough to keep me from drinking. I didn't have a hernia repair, it was just my stomach announcing it's displeasure :) Please consider contacting your surgeon or her/his on-call team today.

You won't be feeling like drinking or eating. You can survive without food but you cannot survive without Water. You have got to be regimented.

Get a drink and watch your clock every thirty minutes through out the day sip on it slowly.

Do not gulp or rush and take tiny sips. The more you do it the better your stomach will heal and you will be hydrated.

Try different temperatures warm and ice cold, tepid can sometimes cause nausea.

You should be aiming for 2 litres- 1.750 quarts .

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
