Protein - whats your favorite?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm pre-op and looking for the best tasting Protein drink/shake. I have tried Premier Protein and the aftertaste/chalkiness and sweetness are too much for me. I need one that has absolutely no flavor or one that really tastes good. Pre made or powder-doest matter. Thanks! Whats your favorite and why??

Hi Jennifer, I'm one year post op. I've tried many Protein powder shakes and the very best one's that I have found are from "Milk shake Bar" They have a lot of flavors. They can be mixed with milk or Water. My 2 favorites are vanilla Caramel and Rocky Road. They mix up beautifully and have no after taste. I get it from Amazon, I don't know where you live but they are supposed to be available at Whole Foods in the beginning of next year. Their phone # is 1-888-582-2580 and e mail is www.proteinmilkshakebar.com, give them a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed! Good Luck to you! Cinnamon

Hi there - I am over a year post op and tried a half million types and flavors of Protein before I found

GNC Pro Performance® AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ - chocolate

It's from GNC and the nice thing about GNC is their return policy! If you open a product, try it and don't like it, you can return it for a full refund! It's around $30 per bag, but they often times have BOGO half off and you can combine that sale with their $10.00 coupon. Good luck!

Hi Jennifer, It's Cinnamon again. I just wanted to tell you something else I use and you might like. It's a drink called "Isopure" it's in a 20oz bottle & there is no sugar but it has 40 grams of Protein. It comes ready to drink. They have a variety of flavors but my favorite is Blue Raspberry. They are very good, no after taste. I don't get them from Amazon as they seem to charge more. I got mine from Lucky Vitamin, and I believe they are available at Health food Stores. Hope I didn't bother you, but We gotta have options ya know!!! Lol Cinnamon

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
