I was a 30 BMI at around 84kgs at 5ft 6.. 5th dec 2016 to now I'm 69kgs.

No problems with Water intake at all from day 1.

I eat Protein mostly then very low carb veg with hardly any carbs.

It's not been that bad.

Doc said I should get to 60kgs... ummmmm don't think so and I don't care if I stay where I am now.

Blood pressure tablets are now lowered but still on 200micros of thryroxine

Hey all!! Since my last post, I've changed careers, bought a house and completely changed my life!!

Quick check in: I'm now 125 lbs, losing about 4 pounds a month at almost 6 months. I still work out religiously and can almost see abs.

This surgery is the best thing that EVER happened to me! attachicon.gif ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1482785203.315714.jpg

What is the average weight loss per month for low BMIers?

We lose a lot the first month - like 10-15. Then maybe 7 - 10 the next month. Then 5 - 10. It's not really an average - the farther out from surgery you are, the less you lose. I'm basically 6 months out, and I lost 3 pounds last month - BUT I'm also at goal. Everything I'm losing now is just icing on the cake.

Just plan to stick to your meal plan and exercise the first 6 months & you'll get to goal within those months as long as you have less than 70 pounds to lose. I lost 55 and only had 50 to lose.

Just my experience though ;)

Remember, your pre-surgery diet will have you losing around 10 pounds before you even have the surgery!

My overall trajectory follows what @@LowBMISleever described.

I'm looking at my monitoring app now:

Pre op to one month post op (so 1 month + 1 week) - 21 lbs

Month 2 post op - 14 lbs

Month 3 post op - 7 lbs

Month 4 post op - 8 lbs

Month 5 post op - 8 lbs

Tomorrow is exactly 5 months post op. I'm down 58 lbs from the start of pre op, which puts me exactly at my original goal (which as I've mentioned in another post I've adjusted a bit, to get back to the weight I was for many years). But if I didn't lose another ounce and was able to maintain here, that'd be a huge success. Unimaginable just this past summer.

(I, too, have the post-baby belly, and the bikini situation is not happening here...but I feel infinitely better in my body, that's for sure!)

Cannot say enough about how this surgery has affected me positively.

Good luck to everyone!

So it was my 6 month surgiversary, and I went to a wedding in the Keys (spent 4 days there). Ate what was served in a grazing-style all day, every day and drank to my heart's content (rum punch, wine, bushwhackers, margaritas). I did not work out. Overall, I was absolutely horrible. I gained 5 pounds. Got right back on the wagon yesterday, but WOW have I been hungry. Totally not worth it. I'm down 2 lbs already, but I'm irritable, hungry and mad at myself. Anyway, just a reminder that the surgery does NOT do all the work for us. It's just a tool. We have to use it. Just sharing :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
