@@hats123 thanks for asking. I had my 1 week post op check up today. Doc seems to skip purée stage and told me I can have cottage cheese, egg, soft foods. Just had an egg. Tasted like heaven. I feel like I could go a couple of spoons of cottage cheese now 20 mins later. I'm definitely not one of the people that can't face food sadly. Tomorrow I'm going to try yogurt with Protein Powder and a strawberry blended in. I started at 192lbs. I'm 5'7. 7 down so far. Can't wait to b where u are

@"hats123" thanks! This is so exciting! I'm very encouraged by reading these posts but last night I started reading about complications and that scared me good! All of the "what ifs"...

Hi all ! I'm two weeks post op. My incisions are barely there anymore ! dr illan said they were able to just do 3 incisions instead of 4 , which is great : btw.. anyone thinking about doing this .. don't look any further , contact bill n let him set you up with Dr. Illan. The hospital was pristine and the doctors and nurses were above and beyond my expectations.. better then any care or attention iv got here in New York. I'm

Still not able to eat anything solid at all . I Attempted to eat some of the inside

of of a warm toasted whole wheat bagel, figuring it was nice and soft .. not a good idea . It hurt going down . I also tried cottage cheese .. basically I'm still only able to be on liquids . Just Soups and Isopure Protein Drinks . Anyone else take a while to transition to soft foods ?

Hi I'm 11 days in and was given the go ahead to add cottage cheese and eggs at one week. I'm doing ok, but the cottage cheese makes my chest hurt a bit. I'm not sure yet what is normal discomfort and when I need to stop. I'm very nervous about hurting myself

Just found this thread! Thank you @@LowBMISleever for starting it! My surgery date is 11/8. 5-6 wt 185 bmi 30.5. Everyone please keep posting and updating. I'm learning so much just reading your posts. I've read them all twice. Hanging on to every word and just can't wait for it to be me!

Anyone think we should start our own private Facebook group or is this just as easy? I'm worried I'll never be able to find this group again.

@JUSTWANTTOSMILE good luck today! The next few days will likely be somewhat hard but that passes quickly, and what's ahead is awesome!

Glad to hear the recent post-op people on the thread are recovering well.

I've had a rough couple weeks -- some crazy work deadlines I didn't plan well for, and while I didn't overeat, I didn't get enough Protein, Water, or sleep. Then IMMEDIATELY after two consecutive all-nighters (in my 40s, way too old for that!) I had two big events, on consecutive nights. Overtired, not fed properly, and at events geared towards hours and hours of basically grazing? Not good. I didn't make myself sick, but I set myself back a solid week or two loss-wise. I've been holding steady at 145 for over a week now, and I have to remember the point is not just losing, but losing and maintaining, and that I was 183 just two and a half months ago for crying out loud! I also have to remember that pre-sleeve, a few weeks like the ones I've just had would have resulted in a 5-10 pound GAIN.

Still, I'm eager to break this mini-stall and oh, man, the 130s sound amazing at this point!! I would love to be there by Thanksgiving (which I do not plan to observe by bingeing -- ugh!)

Anyway-- keep updating! I love the low BMI threads!

@@hats123 I'm doing well thanks. I lost 13 lbs the first 10 days but have stalled for the last 4. My main issue is lack of energy, but I'm hoping that improves over the coming weeks. I can't wait to get cleared for real food .

It took me several weeks to get my normal energy level back; I think being tired is totally normal!

My mini-stall seems to have mini-broken, thank goodness -- it's so annoying to see the numbers not budge. But if you stay on plan they will drop!

Tonight is rough.. lots of gas in my chest. Any ideas to help it subside?

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Everyone says to walk walk walk if you can. I sipped warm lemon and ginger tea and that helped me burb up the gas. Good luck, it will pass soon.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
