26 Days Post Op First Solid Dinner

Recommended Posts

Recently read over my book and noticed i was allowed alot of foods so i decided to make my first dinner. Grilled ground turkey patty with onions and green peppers and spinach with added Protein. Only ate about less than half a turkey patty and 1/2 cup of spinach but it was delicious. Whats left should get me by for the next 2 weeks if i even eat it.post-296147-14701601458967_thumb.jpg post-296147-14701601509559_thumb.jpg

I didn't do that good getting the meat down. For now it would be a less likely part of my meals lol, other than that i felt good.

I had the same problem with ground meat at first also. For whatever reason, it didn't go down easily and it was a bit painful once it was down, yet I had no issues with shredded chicken for whatever reason. Keep doing what you're doing....the best advice I could give is take a bite and WAIT a few minutes to see how your sleeve accepts it. Best of luck!

I've seen on some other posts and blogs where people who have trouble getting meat down, make a little bit of a dip to help moisten it - think greek yogurt with some herbs and spices added. Might be worth a try and the yogurt will give you more protein!

That was my first time adding my unflavored Protein to my food. Next time i will add the Protein Powder to half a cup of Water until its a pancake like batter then add it to my food. It broke down in the spinach pretty good but not as good as i wanted it too.

I was wondering what brand unflavored Protein do you use? I bought one and cant stand the taste. It has that sour milk taste to me. Im still on Clear liquids mostly. Im supposed to be going into purees but im to affraid and honestly everything but ice Water feels to heavy or just taste bad.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
