Finally seeing some progress

Recommended Posts

So on the 21st of july my Dr gave me 6wks to lose 15lbs. I wasn't sure I was gonna be able to do that. Well I waited till the 28th to start my diet cause the 26th was my birthday and I wanted to be able to have my cake. So today is day 5 of my low carb diet. No soda no sugar no Pasta no potatoes no corn or other high carb veggie rarely any fruit. I won't lie I've cheated a bit, one day I ate 3 small pieces of fries or two days ago I drank a diet Pepsi. But all in all I've kept my days under 40g of carbs a day. And it has been easy I feel sick and yucky and kinda pukie at times. And I just keep trying to tell my self get passed the first week and it will go away. So I'm pushing on. Any way the 21st I weighed 372 and today I weighed in at 366!! I'm so excited to have lost 6lbs:) only 9 more to go and I still have 30 days lol yay. This was my intake yesterday and what I try to achieve most days.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
