What are you eating 3 weeks post op?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I am 3 weeks out and I am curious what others are eating? I feel like my intakes and my selections are minimal....maybe I am just afraid to try new foods for fear of getting sick???

Heyo! 3 weeks post-op here. I have a pretty boring palate, I've been living off of cottage cheese, thinned (with broth) refried Beans, PB2, and pureed chicken noodle Soup. My NUT also suggested hummus - I'll have to grab some when I'm at the store next.

at 3 weeks out i was just starting puree

2 weeks pre-op i was on a full liquid diet and post-op i had to stay on the diet for 2 more weeks...it sucked

Thursday i started solid foods but i've noticed myself not wanting to be adventurist and actually do it..i've been reluctant to give up the purees for whatever reason

Two days ago I started pureed/soft foods. I've had scrambled eggs, deli turkey, yogurt, Ricotta Bake (from http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com ), and pear. Tomorrow I'm thinking about refried Beans and guacamole.

Obviously the amount of food is very small but it's better than just liquid and gives me hope for the future!

Hey, I Hit 3 weeks Fri 7/22. Not eating anything special. I eat turkey chili, various Soups (seafood chowder, lobster bisque, pumpkin bisque). I drink Protein shakes twice a day, today I had Boston Market turkey and mashed potatoes. I was able to eat 1 1/2 pieces of turkey (focused on that 1st) 1-2 spoonfuls of potatoes.

I have been drinking smoothies made with fresh frozen fruit and greek yogurt.

I also eat fresh fruit (probably not supposed to) like watermelon slices, bananas, peaches, cherries. I can eat about 5-6 cherries at a time, or 1/2 of a peach (peeled skin). I'll wait until soft foods to try steamed veggies but I try and shake it up a little.

I'm on pureed/soft foods. I'm finding it's a full time job to get enough Protein from the small amounts of food I can eat so am still supplementing with at least 1-2 Protein Shakes a day. I've had scrambled eggs with and without cheese, canned salmon, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, hummus, other kinds of cheese, Greek yogurt, soft fish. 2 oz max at a time.

This is my last week on soft foods. I'm having cottage cheese, mashed potato with cheese, canned salmon, cooked salmon, tilapia, weight watchers string cheese, baby bell cheese, (I had the cheese off a small square of pizza)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
