26th September sleeve date

Recommended Posts

So, a wee bit about me. I'm 31, Scottish, but live in Australia now. BMI 35.

I Have my VSG booked in for the 26th of September. I'm not planning on telling any friends or family, and I'm going to Tijuana, Mexico to have it done. If anyone would like to buddy up and have someone to chat about what we're going through, please message me!

Anyone else in a similar position?

I'm scheduled for September 6th, but self pay and my mom is helping me so I'll be nervous until everything is paid. Mine is being done in Austin, TX, but I don't think I'll be telling anyone that doesn't already know. I have a lapband now and wish I hadn't told anyone about it because it makes it really awkward when it doesn't go well. Even then it was only close family. I'm 31 as as well. How long will your flight be to Tijuana?

Hi everyone! I'm also set for surgery on 9/26 in Tampa, Florida. I'm filing through my insurance so I've been working on jumping through all of the hoops since February. Part of me is super excited to get this started and part of me is scared to death. My BMI is 40 so I keep 2nd guessing myself by thinking maybe I should try one more time to do this on my own. Honestly though I've tried probably 100 times. I have PCOS so that makes it much harder.

Completely agree!! Even people who've had complications say they'd do it all over again. That's what keeps me going. :-) I'm looking forward to being healthy and living a better life.

Hi everyone! I'm finished with all pre-op but probably won't get a date until early September. I'm getting nervous and excited! I've been having 2 Protein drinks and one small low carb meal for the past 5 weeks! I'm losing but it's tough! I need to exercise but hate it!

I just got the call this morning 9/26!!!!!! Springfield IL. I'm so excited! The last week has been so hard full of ups and downs trying to get ahold of the surgeon to schedule. Telephone tag is no fun!

Is anyone else on FB? Would anyone be interested in starting a fb group of our "sleeve" class?

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
