I'm 6 weeks out from sleeve. I am losing slowly. I lost 1.7 pounds last week and 1.9 pounds this week. Granted I have 85 pounds to lose but it's hard to be excited when the loss is so slow. Anybody else feeling the same way? A loss is a loss, so that's a good thing. However I thought it would be a little bit more.

Instead of focusing on the numbers on the scale, try focusing on getting in all of your Protein and fluids.

Steady loss is a gift from the weight loss Gods...you could be like me and not losing anything for 3 weeks. Be glad you're not stalled! I'm sure what you're eating is fine; that's good loss.

I'm 4 weeks out and I already have a stall. I have been walking and trying to drink lots of Water and trying to get the Protein in it's hard I carry around a tuna packet to eat. I hope I start to loss soon. Feeling like I'm doing something wrong.

@@emtobin75 It's so frustrating. I never expected it to be this difficult. But I will not give up! Hope your stall breaks soon!

I have much more to loose then you an I feel like mine has slowed down too. Im 4 weeks post op an have lost 52lbs since pre-op. Which looking at the number seems great but I just can't see a difference an now I've slowed down to a crawl. Looking at what I got to loose seems so far away. Guess I just gotta keep pushing forward.

At 6 weeks, I was down 18lbs from my surgery weight. Today, I'm just over 10 months and down 100. I remember feeling like I would never make goal at 6 weeks because it was coming off so slow… but I'm 18lbs away now. It's hard to be patient, but stick with your plan… you'll get there!

I understand what you are going through. I feel like I am not losing any faster since surgery than I did when I was on the pre-op diet. The good part is I am still losing and I am not having to rely completely on my own self control. I try to get smart but it is nice be satisfied on smaller portions. If you don't have body composition scales, I would highly recommend them. I have only lost 21 pds in 2 months but 35 pds of that has been fat lost so that number makes me feel better. :). My Water weight keeps going up and I don't understand why.

I was a slow loser in that the highest I ever lost in one week was 6 lbs. Normally, I lost about 1.5 lbs. - sometimes less. Stick to your plan and one day you'll look back and realize how far you've come. Sometimes WLS doesn't make you lose weight faster (though generally much more consistently than anything you've tried before), but does help you keep the weight off and be satisfied.

I only wish I would have lost 52 lbs. in four weeks. :)

i'm glad to hear i'm not alone. I will not give up as a slow loss is better than no loss. I'm getting my 65+ g of Protein plus my Water but I guess as I start adding more food back, it will just take a bit longer than I had hoped. Hopefully this will mean less loose skin. ????

I'm six weeks out also. I lost 24 lbs before surgery and 22 after my sleeve. Went to the doctor today and they are pleased with my progress. I only have 55 to 60 lbs to loose. I'm 5'4 and 62 years old. Just remember the less you have to loose the slower it comes off. Stay on top of things. It's going to happen for us!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
