Purred Stage Help (pic included)

Recommended Posts

I'm on the pureed stage for two weeks and I'm starting to struggle. I've been craving real food and getting kind of emotional. I wasn't given any recipes to make just a short list of things I can have. If anyone would like to take a look and if they have suggestions or ideas that would be greatly appreciated. I'm no where close to a chef or creative when it comes to food. post-295495-14682041055969_thumb.jpg

I just made this today for my puréed food stage. Look up ricotta bake for bariatrics on google for the recipe. You can also look up recipes on Pintrest, just type puréed food recipes.< /p>

I've thought about trying the ricotta bake and things like that I see on pinterest, but those foods aren't actually listed in what I'm allowed to have right now. I'm nervous to do it and mess something up.

@@SaraGrace are you on puree stage or full liquids?

In my packet I was given its labeled full liquids, but I'm aloud to have blended Soups, so I assume that means I can have pureed. Starting the 19th I will move to my next stage which is "soft foods"

Soft foods is more the pureed stage. Full liquids don't have as many options.

On my full liquids my biggest addition was cottage cheese and yogurt. I didn't really bother with 4 oz of creamy Soup, the other addition.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
