Marinara sauce - puréed stage suggestions

Recommended Posts

I've been confused on what foods I can actually have , this week will be my last week on full liquids, thank god ! I will be on puréed foods for a week after that, with that said I found recipes about bakes ricotta cheese with marinara sauce,... Can I have that during the puréed stage? What stage would eggs be in ? Everyone's telling me something different. What about salsa? Please give me suggestions for my puréed stage & soft ! THANK YOU

It depends on your plan. My purée stage (stage 2 of my diet) says no eggs. I am on this stage for two weeks and then I can have eggs. So I can't have the ricotta bake yet. But a lot of people are able to have eggs on this stage. So I think it just depends on your diet plan.

Everyone's plans are SO different. I was on Clear Liquids for 2 weeks, full 1week, purée 1 week and soft 1 week. My plan and my friends are so different . Just trying to see what works for everyone and at about what week they could tolerate it :) I'm gonna try the ricotta bake and marinara in my purée stage, I guess I'll call my surgeon about the eggs. I heard a lot of people have issues with eggs (which I hope passes cause I love eggs!) my friend suggested scrambled first then whole next

Fried or over easy eggs work better for me than scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs are like bricks. I don't think I will ever eat them again. The first time I had some after surgery was a horror show.

It lad to hear that over easy/ fried worked better cause that's my favorite way to hVe them.....please describe your horror show to me so I know what to expect

They hurt, and lots of terrible gas. Even now, eggs are still a toss up on if they will create a lot of gas and by gas I mean like gas in my entire digestive track.

I'm a gonna echo the egg caution on here! Tried them every few weeks once my plan allowed them which was at the purée stage. Ouch!!! Took till about six months out before I could eat them without pain/nausea.

Mine were scrambled because that's the only way I've ever liked them. Didn't try boiled or fried.

On my blended phase I was told to soft scramble the egg, then blend it. My mini food processor has sure come in handy!

My surgeon says no scrambled eggs for 1st 6 mos. Can clog. Hard boiled or soft cooked ok. For some reason the scrambled dont break down well enough

During this stage, I ate marinara with cottage cheese (microwaved to melt the cheese) as well as refried Beans with cheese (also melted). I also ate poached eggs. They all worked fine for me.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
