6 month waiting period for insurance is crazy

Recommended Posts

My nut and Dr are using the 6 month diet to prepare me for the drastic changes my body will go thru, I eat 5-6 six times a day and this month I am trying to sip Water more and not guzzle. I have only about 1 month and a week left in my 6 month, I've lost around 30 lbs and right now I only eat to satisfy! It is really hard to eat 5-6 times a day! The 6 month diet has gone by really fast. You need to listen to dr and nut and end will be here before you know it.

Myfitpal app helped me tremendously. Once I saw what I was doing wrong I knew what I needed to fix. I had to do six months as well. My doctor wanted me to lose 20lbs I lost 42. Try it...

It's weird to me that some people claim their surgeon recommends a food funeral. JEEZUS. That's like a heart surgeon telling someone to go eat a bacon double cheeseburger from Wendy's before a triple bypass.

Waiting for half a year for surgery is crazy. If I could diet for a half a year by myself I wouldn't being trying to get approved for surgery. I'm having a terrible time sticking to 1500 calories or less with 90 grams of Protein. How did anyone else do during the wait? Were you able to stick to the plan you were given?

I weigh in Thursday for my last time!!! Then my 6 months will be up. I feel like 6 months is way too long, it actually makes me angry to think I could be 50 pounds lighter right now if the wait period was only 3 months instead.

Honestly, I've learned nothing. I've lost 5 pounds. I just want the dang surgery right now!

I wish I found out about Arctic zero it's a frozen dessert comes in many flavor depends on what kind you get but a pint could only be 170 calories, just let it sit out for 5-10 min and it's so good... Then eat salads also to much Protein without exercise will make you gain weight or stay stable. Don't eat after 7 pm

I hated the idea of the diet at first, but the six months taught me to change my relationship with food. Plus you have to realize - you CAN stretch your pouch out post-op. It's not a miracle cure its a tool so you have to learn the discipline, Eat to live, don't live to eat. Better to do it now than post-op. What really helped me was doing a high Protein, low carb diet. Focused more on the low carb than fat intake, so that made things like bacon (in moderation!) a lifesaver and it really took the weight off.

That 6 months is your time to change your habits and increase your exercise level so that you are prepared for surgery. The less you weigh, the more you exercise, and the better your nutrition all adds up to being less likely to have complications from surgery and anesthesia. It also adds up to being more successful after surgery! The more you lose now the faster you'll get to goal after surgery!

I was definitely not perfect during my 6 months but I did lose 30 pounds and mentally prepare for the changes I'd have to make.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
