I was sleeved on 6/13. The pain is tolerable but I'm not able to sleep in a comfortable position. I usually sleep on my side but it hurts too much to get in that position. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

For a little while I slept at a 45 degree angle. My recliner came in very handy

Thanks Sophie 74656. I slept on the recliner for the first few days and it wasn't bad. I guess I will go back to that until I am in less pain lying down.

Laying flat put pressure on my main incision and it hurt. sleeping in the recliner wasn't the most comfortable thing but it didn't cause me pain.

I put a pillow here. Tucked one under there. Stuffed another between this and that.

It took 6 pillow total, but when I finally got them in the right position------aaaahhhh, pure heaven!!

Good luck and let us know how you finally got a good night sleep.

:)

I'm a side sleeper and I got a body pillow to alleviate the pressure/pain on my stomach. It worked great for me. You might want to give it a try :)

That's a great idea. I already have a body pillow so I will try it tonight.

I'm a stomach sleeper, and for the first 5-6 nights (I was also sleeved on 6/13) I slept on my back, but I have a comfy bed. It was finally last night or the one before that I was able to finally turn on my left side comfortably. I imagine it's going to be a month or so before I can resume sleeping on my stomach.

Yeah, I hate sleeping on my back for extended periods of time but it is uncomfortable right now any other way. 4 days post here. I'm sure within a few weeks it'll be good...probably going to wait until the all clear at 6 weeks to try stomach sleeping.< /p>

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
