The wait begins

Recommended Posts

So i hate waiting. I had my band removal on may 23rd due to slippage. June 8th i had my follow up appt and we discussed options. First the doctor wants me to see the dietician so my weight doesn't go through the roof since my eating habits and portion sizes have changed some since the removal. Okay fine except that will be a month from now.. and then i make an appt with the doctor for revision. Waiting.. I hate it..

of course it makes me upset with myself that i didn't just opt for the sleeve to begin with.

So now i have a choice .. do i go with my original doctor who did the band or the doctor who removed it.. They are in the same group and i feel comfortable with them both .. decisions decisions.

Will do!. I agree waiting is the worst but it lets me go back to work and get my things in order before the revision

The waiting is the worst. I got my band removed in the beginning of February and got MGB on 24th May. I gained app. 2 kg. So no big deal in the end but the waiting time was horrible nevertheless. I'm feeling with you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
