When do you stop freezing all of the time? I am constantly cold, especially at work. My co-workers think I'm crazy with a heater in my office in June.

for me it was about six weeks. I always used to be the hot sweaty mess all the time, now I am pretty much normal. not hot, not cold. if your labs are good, this should even out.

Fat is an excellent insulator. As you lose fat you lose the insulation that normally kept your body warm. Thus you are cold. Thank God for the individual that invented hand warmers. A very useful thing when you are shoveling snow in the middle of winter.

I'm glad I am not going through this during winter! Wyoming winters can be pretty cold. Even summers can be chilly at times, I get cold during the nights a lot as well. I am just hoping to acclimate at some point.

I was banded almost 3 1/2 years ago. I'm still cold. I have a heater in my office even though it's 'contraband'. I just bought a fur lined raincoat for next winter. Seriously. I wear a wetsuit in the pool at my Y because the Water is too cold for me. I wear flannel PJs and socks to bed in the winter...and still use a heavy comforter. It is what it is. Better to be cold than unhealthy.

I was always a hot sweaty mess too. I remember my first night home after surgery I woke up in the middle of the night freezing to the point of chattering teeth and shivering. I had to get an extra blanket to put on my bed. Since then I've been more on the cool side rather than hot. The only time I'm hot and sweaty now is if there is a lot of humidity.

I hate that kind of weather (we have that right now). The dog hates it, too, lol.

I haven't noticed being COLD so much in my 6.5 months since surgery as not being hot. Today I walked across campus 1.25 miles. I was walking at a fairly fast pace for my short legs - about 16 min. miles. 6.5 months ago I would have been drenched in sweat by the time I arrived. Today I wasn't even breathing heavy!

My officemate is from Malawi in Africa and is ALWAYS cold. We got her a heating pad to sit under or on so that we didn't have dueling appliances - she had a heater and I had a fan. We both used both year round. We are much closer to the same temperature now. In fact she laughs everytime I say I'm cold!

I am always cold. ALWAYS. We still have flannel sheets on the bed and I am using a small heater in my office. I have learned to bring a sweater or wrap with me everywhere. It's all about layers.

This topic came up in my support group and just about everyone in the room agreed the world feels much cooler than before surgery. The cause, I dunno, but I think it's a probably a result of the surgery directly and not about fat loss, because i started feeling cold right away, as do many others.

Personally I'm mostly happy about this as I used to feel too hot all the time and be sweating when no one else was. I also sleep much better and never wake up sweating. I may feel a lot different about this come winter, but for now, I'll take it. :)

I think the cold is partly at least because your body pulls resources (blood, etc.) from your extremities to heal from the trauma of surgery. As you heal you may feel somewhat warmer.

I don't feel cold at all. (Ok, maybe it's not the weather for feeling cold right now, lol).

I only get chills in the late evening when I'm beginning to get tired but I don't notice a difference compared to pre-op time.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
