Where Did My Fill Go?

Recommended Posts

This question has been asked MANY times here, but unless the mystery happens to me, I never remember the answer!!!

I went for my 2nd fill today. Had my first fill back in Aug. - 1.6cc's. When Dr. Spiegel checked the level today it was a 1.2cc......

so, where did my fill go???

Osmosis, darling girl... or, maybe some of it backs up in the tubing? It's very common for some to be missing several months later. If it were ALL gone. I'd be concerned. :D

That is strange..and I agree I never remeber the respones to this very question

For me I have had 2 fills, my first one was 1.1 cc's in June 2004

My 2nd fill was August of .9 cc's..he pulled out 1.1 and then added .9

I have heard that people say it evaporates..I have heard people having a leak in their tubing..I have also heard that when a Dr. pulls out the needle some can leak...

.4 cc's is not alot so possibly that is the case with you? My first fill when the needle was pulled out I did have a wet spot where it dripped down on my tummy from saline..it's possible

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
