Ok everyone, here goes.....

I started my one week pre-op diet today. My surgery is in one week, June 7th, 2016 and my nerves are really kicking in. I have seen several people posting their stories in this forum, so I thought I'd give it a go. It will be nice to have one place I can update everyone and keep track of my progress. After reading so many inspiring stories in this discussion thread, I hope that one day, I can do the same.

I'm all stocked up on Protein shakes/ powders (Premier Protein shakes, Unjury protein powders, Syntrax protein powders, and GENEPRO protein powder), broths, teas, and sugar free Jello. Luckily, my pre-op diet allows a dinner consisting of 3 ounces lean meat, 1 cup veggies, 1/2 cup fruit. Thank goodness!

And now for the hard part, posting my weight. Sigh.....First, my height is 5'6"

HW- 290+

SW-287

GW- 160-175

There...I did it. Hopefully, I will never see those numbers again.

Hi Heather!

Good luck with the pre-op. Don't over think it and don't worry about what you aren't having. Just think how much more the scale will drop when you weigh in for surgery.

How exciting!!!!!

I am scheduled for tomorrow. We got this!!!

3rd day of pre-op diet. My goodness this is hard. I know why it's so important, which is why I'm being strict about it, but dang it's hard!

5th day pre-op diet and it is getting easier. I'm just keeping myself busy and getting caught up on cleaning. That seems to help.

@@DukeLacroix Thank you for the encouragement! It is already getting easier, and I can't wait until Tuesday. How have the last 4 weeks been for you?

I was sleeved on May 19 so I remember how difficult this time is. First of all the pre-opt is the pitts, but I honestly feel like that was the best thing I could have done to prepare me for the future.

I was a nervous wreck before surgery, but it really wasn't that bad. Just follow the directions and try and stay hydrated. Now that I am approaching 3 weeks I feel great. My weight is down and I feel like I am able to listen to my body better than I ever have before. The only problem I had was that I ate a small amount more than I should of a couple of times which left me uncomfortable but that is part of the learning curve.

Remember just relax and know that this what we all need and that we will be thinking of you.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
