  11. I am four weeks post surgery and here is my weight loss chart. The little blue dots are the actual weights. 31 lbs in 30 days. I feel good. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I had an episode which was so bad I was taking a bulking agent first. When that didn't work in 12 hours I took a laxative. Another overnight and no progress. Then a second dose. It all hit at once while I was driving to church. It was bad. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I am 4 weeks post op. I agree on the constipation comments. I have totally stopped taking pain meds because they caused constipation. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I am 4 weeks post-op today. I just wanted to drop in and offer you some encouragement. It will be fine. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I like the Premier Protein shakes. I get them from costco or Amazon.com. chocolate is the best IMO. I'm one month post-surgery today. It's worth it so far. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I'm a Floridian too, Btw. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I'll give you some pointers about pain meds. Take them when you need them, don't when you don't. Sounds logical but it's harder to do than you think. Pain meds cause constipation and it can get bad. When you balance it all out, it's not worth taking any pain meds when your not in real pain. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Are there downsides? Sure. I enjoyed food, but that joy is gone. We don't eat at restaurants but we do go to the pier, and parks for walks instead. We get coffee (decaf for me). Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Today is my one month anniversary. I'm glad I did it. I'm down 31 lbs. There have been some immediate benefits. My back, knees and hips hurt less. I was experiencing some incontinence. That is markedly improved. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. Your S.O. committed suicide the day you had Bariatric surgery? Unbelievable! Was there a connection? Did she not want you to have it? Was she so afraid of a change that she couldn't stand it? My wife has been very supportive. I guess she worried that I'd die on the table, but I'm 4 days post up so that ain't happening. Look, I was in dire need. Each month was a new problem: arthritic hip, back pain, knee pain, inability to walk over 200 yards. My blood pressure was creeping up, my diabetes was getting worse, blotches on my leg---the letters CTD kept creeping into my mind---"circling the drain." Man, I didn't have a choice. Two and a half years at WW and stuck (yes, I attended meetings religiously). I don't know what's at the end of this road, but I knew what was at the end of THAT road. I'm 60. I'm not looking to be svelt again. I just want to be able to walk again. I want to go someplace and not be looking for the next place to sit down and rest. I'd like to be able to watch a movie to the end and not leave the theatre to pee. These are simple desires. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. Keeping up with post op Water intake is a challenge. Check urine color. If it's orange you're not drinking enough. Pale yellow is what you're shooting for. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I can't concentrate while taking pain meds so I haven't felt like reading or even watching TV shows. Baseball works for me. No need to concentrate. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. Well I am now 4 days post op. Haven't felt like posting until today, but I will. I was treated well. The more I walked afterwards the better I felt. Same with breathing exercises. I used to drink lots of Water. Now, Crystal Lite helps because plain water isn't as appetizing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. No, not eating for sure. Don't want to be so close and mess it up. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. I lost 10 lbs in 33 days on high Protein solid foods diet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I like Premier Protein shakes. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
