Hi! I just had my gastric bypass 5 days ago. I see improvement every day. Which is great. I pass a little gas. Not much. I have had 2 tiny bowel movements. Very tiny. Does it take a while this close to surgery to get " normal?"

I am so ready for some food tho! I have to have shakes and Water for 2 weeks only. Then can graduate to soft foods. eggs sound so freakin amazing right now! Lol. It's funny how fast everything changes. I went from craving a bunch of tacos and soda to now just one egg. All I want is one egg! Lol

I had my surgery on MOnday. My Protein has to come from the three my NUT and surgeon recommend. Barbaric Advantage, Chike, and New Direction (I think). It has something to do with the type of Protein these deliver.

I'm on all liquids (3 4oz protein shakes/day plus 64 oz water) for the first 10 days... Then on puréed foods for 2 weeks (I think I can get pretty creative with this one LOL)... And then finally soft foods for 2 weeks (We will be in Florida for the beginning of this visiting my dad... I want lots of fish and crab! LOL)

I can use high protein skim milks in my shakes if I'd like to to get more protein and a few calories in during the beginning.

I'm glad to hear u can have soft foods when u go on vacay! I've been reading fish and crab is a huge yes on soft foods/ Protein intake. And if u love it it def makes it easy!

I'm supposed to be on powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury or Celebrate per my nut. I cannot tolerate either. So I'm on premier. It's amazing. And it has more Protein anyway. Luckily I'm able to get it down.

Just a heads up: Unjury and Celebrate were recommended to you because it is 100% pure whey isolate protein-- it's basically a super clean and pure Protein without the fillers. While Premier is a great, quick ready to drink go-to, I'd never use it as my main Protein Shake (but that's just me). it's a protein blend full of fillers and while it boasts 30 grams of protein, you're not really absorbing 30 grams of protein, b/c its not pure whey isolate. My NUT told me you're probably absorbing about 15 grams of it. Just letting you know, in the long run, you're better off with the dr. recommended protein.

I'm two weeks post op and I just bought dulcolax. I feel like I'm constipated. Haven't gone since last week. Still on Clear liquids. I'm sooo ready for food

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
